Job summary
This is a key appointment for the practice, you will be
responsible for our Pharmacy Team with oversight and responsibility for other
Clinical Pharmacists and Pharmacy technicians who work both physically in the
practice and remotely. You will support the practice prescription clerks,
although their day-to-day line management responsibilities lay with another
manager in the practice. You will be
physically based in the practice at our main site, which is located on Kings
Road, Harrogate and, due to the role having management responsibilities this is
an in-person role rather than remote.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work within their clinical competencies
with ongoing support and supervision from the multi-disciplinary team. The role
will provide expertise in clinical medicines management, provide face to face
structured medication reviews, manage long term conditions, management of
medicines on transfer of care and systems for safer prescribing, manage repeat
prescription authorisations and reauthorisation, and acute prescription
requests for patients.
The post holder will be critical in supporting the delivery
of Quality Outcomes Framework (QOF) specifications and will help lead
improvements to maximise safe, cost-effective best practice to improve the
quality of patient care.
You will support the ongoing development and training needs
of those within your team to maximise the team's effectiveness.
You will work with our GP Partner prescribing lead; to
support the practices work and you will represent the practice in any PCN or
area wide Integrated Care Board prescribing forums.
About us
Moss Healthcare is a large GP practice in the centre of the
beautiful town of Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
We have a patient population of over 20,000 patients with our main
surgery on Kings Road in Harrogate town centre.
We have one branch, 2 miles from the main site, at the Jennyfields
Health Centre. We are one of four practices within the Heart of Harrogate
Primary Care Network (PCN).
We have an extensive multi-disciplinary team that includes seven GP partners and four Salaried GPs and a regular cycle of GP registrars. The surgery is a teaching and training practice, so it supports numerous trainee doctors and medical students throughout the year.There is a team of practice nurses, healthcare assistants, advanced nurse practitioners, first contact physiotherapists, mental health practitioners, social prescribers as well as clinical pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and prescription clerks.There is a Business Manager who is supported by an Operations Team, including both receptionists, administrators and medical secretaries.
