Pay: £12.80-£13.60 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 32 per week (pro rata)

The post holder will have successfully completed the 2-year Trainee Nursing Associate training programme, which includes the attainment of a level 5 Foundation Degree equivalent qualifications and NMC registration.

The role of the Nursing Associate is to work with the Registered Nurse and other members of the multi-disciplinary team, providing and monitoring care and contributing to ongoing assessment, as agreed with the supervising clinician(s) and in line with the service pathways.

Main duties of the job

  • Promoting health and preventing ill health to support people to improve and maintain their mental, physical, behavioural health and wellbeing.
  • Provide and monitor care to people in a range of care settings which may include from their place residence
  • Improving safety and quality of care, identifying risks to safety or experience and taking appropriate action, putting the best interests, needs and preferences of people firs
  • Work with a mentor to take responsibility for developing own clinical competence, leadership and reflective practice skills within the workplace.
  • Able to work without direct supervision, at times delivering care independently in line with a person's defined plan of care, within the parameters of practice of the Nursing Associate role, accessing clinical and care advice when required.
  • Signpost to other appropriate services or professionals as required for a person's care, having an awareness of the available support and services across other healthcare provider
  • Ensure only those clinical tasks for which competence has been achieved are undertaken without supervision and that recognition is given to the impact and consequences of practising outside capability
  • Perform and record clinical observations including blood pressure, temperature, pulse oximetry
  • Adhere to legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines both local and national, regularly attending workplace and staff engagement meetings and contribute positively to discussions about the improvement of care
