Here at Billinghay Medical Practice, we have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager to join the team. We are looking for the right candidate to work 18-20 hours a week, alongside the Practice Manager. This role provides the option to work from home as well as in the Practice. The hours and days of work will be discussed at the interview.

Interviews are due to take place on week commencing 28th August 2023.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work alongside the Practice Manager and GP Partners to ensure the Practice operates in a profitable and cost-effective manner. They will be responsible for:

Management of bank accounts ensuring regular reconciliation of the bank statements.

Ensure all outgoing expenditure is paid in the given time frames and liaise with the correct providers to ensure all reimbursements are completed.

Work alongside the Practice accountants to ensure all the financial details are up to date and accurate to support the accounts.

Work alongside the payroll providers to ensure each months payroll is accurate and processed in a timely manner

About us

Billinghay Medical Practice is a rural and caring practice which provides a range of services for the 5,000 patients who are registered with us.

We have a skilled and experienced team comprising of 3 GPs, 3 Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Care Co-ordinator and an excellent nursing team. Alongside these we have a highly motivated and competent Reception / Administration and Dispensary teams.

We strive to ensure every patient receives excellent medical services from all members of staff within the Practice. We treat all patients and staff with dignity, independence, respect and honesty in an environment that is accessible, safe and friendly.

Duties and Responsibilities

Manage Practice finances, identifying and suggesting ways to help reduce expenditure

Review all income and expenditure statements, identifying any inaccuracies and rectifying such issues

Management of bank accounts ensuring regular reconciliation of bank statements

Ensure invoices are paid within the given time frame

Create and send invoices for money owed to the Practice

Liaise with the Practice accountants

Maintain an effective system for the handling of petty cash and cheques

Prepare and send the monthly VAT return to HMRC

Balancing and processing script/dispensary income and the dispensary till

Submit year-end figures liaising with the organisations accountant

Manage the partners drawings

Collate and manage the employee pay run each month

Reconcile and manage the petty cash

Liaise with the NHS, ICB, PCN for re-imbursements including rent, water rates, council tax, etc.

General

Ensure all Practice records, (paper and IT) are accurate and updated in a timely manner

Ensure all statutory regulations, (e.g. Health & Safety, COSHH, etc) are implemented and adhered to at all times including being one the Practices fire wardens.

General housekeeping in the office

Attend and participate in staff and Practice meetings and in-house clinical training sessions

Any other reasonable duties as necessary
