We are looking to recruit two part-time receptionists to provide a friendly, confident and professional service to our patients.
We are looking for someone with experience in a customer care environment who has the energy and enthusiasm to work with our reception team to deliver constantly improving levels of service and access to our diverse patient group and associated healthcare professionals.
The receptionist role is exceptionally challenging. You need to have excellent computer skills and have the ability to work under pressure.
Full training will be provided.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be highly motivated and well-organised with excellent communication skills.
Role one - Monday 1.15pm - 6.00pm, Tues 1.15pm - 6.45pm and Fri 7.45am - 1.15pm.
Role two - Mon 7.45am - 1.15pm, Thurs 1.15pm - 6.45pm plus the expectation to pick up an additional shift each week as and when cover is needed.
FLEXIBILITY IS ESSENTIAL as all candidates will be expected to cover a certain number of extra shifts to fill in for annual leave and sick leave so you need to have the flexibility to work Monday to Friday between 7.30am and 8.00pm which will also cover Extended Hours once we start to offer this service.
About us
We are a friendly, semi-rural GMS practice located in the village of Duffield.
We have 11,000 patients and are a SystmOne practice.
Our main surgery is in Duffield but we also have a small branch surgery in Little Eaton. The successful candidate will work from the main site but will also be required to work from our branch surgery.

- Opening up/locking up of practice premises
and maintaining security in accordance with practice protocols
- Maintaining and monitoring the practice
appointments system
- Dealing with face to face and telephone
requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations and ensuring
callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional
- Processing and distributing incoming and
outgoing mail
- Taking messages and passing on information
- Filing and retrieving paperwork
- Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance
with practice guidelines
- Registering new patients
- Computer data entry/data allocation and
collation; processing and recording information in accordance with practice
procedures
- Initiating contact with and responding to
requests from patients, other team members, associated healthcare agencies
and providers
- Acting as a chaperone to clinicians when
requested
- Clearing up spillages of bodily fluids
- Clearing and re-stocking of consulting rooms
as required
- Providing clerical assistance to practice
staff as required from time to time, including word/data processing,
filing, photocopying and scanning
