The successful candidate will be highly motivated and will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of patient care.
We are looking to recruit a part-time Health Care Assistant to provide a friendly, confident and professional service to our patients. Please note that this is to cover maternity leave and will be for approximately 7 months.
This vacancy is for up to 21 hours per week. As it is a temporary contract, you might wish to offer to work maybe 1-2 days per week alongside your current role?
Experience of working in a General Practice surgery is desirable but not essential
Main duties of the job
To have an
understanding of wound management and be able to undertake basic dressings and
removal of sutures
BP
monitoring including opportunistic screening such as BMI, smoking status,
alcohol consumption
Urinalysis
ECG tests
Administration
of injections such as B12, pneumococcal and influeza once received appropriate
training
Spirometry
Chaperoning
duties
Health
Checks
Well-person
checks
Sterilising,
cleansing and maintenance of surgical equipment
Vaccine/cold
chain storage, monitoring and recording
Surgical
equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation
Management
of clinical waste
Take an active role in maintaining high standards of infection control across the practice
Preparing
and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient
care interventions, including assisting GPs during the performance of minor
operations
