Job summary
We are looking for a qualified
nursing associate or nurse to support the nursing team in the delivery of
practice nursing services within the General Practice multidisciplinary team.
There are currently two nurses in the team as our Nursing Associate has moved
location and we need to replace this position.
The role will initially entail
basic General Practice nursing work with the aim to expand knowledge and skills
in the future. We are also open to applications from experienced nurses or
nursing associates in this field.
Main duties of the job
a.
Be responsible for delivering high
quality, patient-centred, compassionate care under the leadership and
direction of a practice nurse
b.
To provide routine care to patients
as required in accordance with clinical based evidence.
c.
To provide wound care, dressings,
cervical screening, injections, chronic disease monitoring, adult
vaccinations, travel (training will be provided)
d.
Childhood vaccines (nurse only)
e.
To support and deliver health
promotion and well-being programmes including any opportunistic delivery
f.
To maintain chronic disease registers
and support clinics to promote patient safety whilst maximising QOF
g.
To support vaccination programmes
for adults and children
h.
To maintain accurate clinical
records in conjunction with extant legislation
i.
To support the clinical team with
all safeguarding matters in accordance with local and national policies
j.
To support the team in dealing with
clinical emergencies
k.
To act as a chaperone
l.
To liaise with external
services/agencies to ensure the patient is supported appropriately
(vulnerable patients etc.)
m. To maintain own clinical competencies and be responsible for own
continuing professional development and attend appropriate courses and study
days arranged by the Practice
n. To
support smooth running of the practice
About us
The surgery is based in High Barnet, North
London, and has a patient population of roughly 8,500. We are a GP training
practice and alongside training doctors we are experienced in training
Healthcare Assistants, Trainee Nursing Associates, Student Nurses and Nurses
new to the specialism.
The team is made up of two male partners,
three female salaried GPs and two practice nurses. They are supported by a
practice manager, medical assistant and 11 receptionists.
