Job summary

We are looking for a caring and enthusiasticTreatment Room Nurseto join our nursing team. This is a lovely opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships with patients and being part of a close-knit practice where your contribution really matters.

You'll be delivering a range of treatment room services while working alongside experienced GPs, nurses and our wider healthcare team.

Main duties of the job

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Providing wound care and dressings
  • Administering adult and childhood immunisations and vaccinations
  • Carrying out cervical cytology
  • Supporting patients with long-term conditions
  • ECGs, blood pressure checks and phlebotomy
  • Helping maintain high standards of infection control

Job responsibilities

The Treatment Room Nurse is to support practice nurses and other healthcare professionals within the Shirley Health Partnership.

This role is responsible for the delivery of evidence-based nursing services, working as part of the practice multi-disciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population.

Working autonomously, the TR Nurse will be responsible for several clinical areas such as public health and screening programs, including infection prevention and control, immunisations, health promotion and prevention, well man/woman clinics and cervical screening, Furthermore, they embed population health management approaches within general practice, targeting health inequalities and improving access.

The post-holder will be an integral part of the practice team, as well as supporting the wider practice nurse network and multi-disciplinary team. They are to participate in formal training events and to promote best practice in their area of expertise as well as supporting the practice management team in the reviewing and delivery of clinical policy and procedure.

  • Registered Nurse (Nursing and Midwifery Council)
  • Has evidence of working at the relevant level of practice as described in the Primary Care and General Practice Nursing Career and Core Capabilities Framework

Experience

  • Broad knowledge of general practice and experience of working as a Practice or Community Nurse
  • Experience of working autonomously
  • Experience of infection prevention and control measures

Desirable
