Job summary

We are recruiting a new Practice Manager for one of our sites. This role will be leading a practice site, supported, and working in conjunction with our senior management team, you will also have the opportunity to develop expert knowledge areas for the wider organisation. This is a fixed term contract to cover leave but at a very exciting time with a move to new premises planned in April 2025.

Based near the stunning Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall, the practice values a strong team culture and supportive working environment. As a partnership we hold a GMS and APMS contract and offer a full range of enhanced services. We are actively involved in GP training, F2s, medical students and research and consider a learning approach essential in our organisation. The practice also maintains valued links with the ICS, LMC, local PCN and our local population, with active engagement and representation at both local and county level.

The successful candidate should have experience in of Practice Management and be able to articulate clearly how they will add value to the existing business. All applicants should demonstrate strong leadership, a positive solutions-focused approach, communication skills and relevant experience including HR.

Main duties of the job

The role will be for a Practice Manager on one of our sites whilst being supported by the wider senior management team. The role will include staff rota, HR, health and safety, governance and supporting and developing a practice team. In addition working with the wider senior management team enabling development and opportunity to grow into a specialist area.

About us

We are currently an 10 partner 15 salaried GP practice working from four sites. The GP team are supported by advanced nurse practitioners, paramedics, practice nurses, HCAs/phlebotomists all with administrative and reception support. We also work with the Primary Care Network and associated additional roles team of pharmacists, pharmacy technician, social prescribing link workers, first contact physios and newly appointed mental health worker.

Our senior management team will be able to support a new Practice Manager in this new role.

We have a strong ethos of training, support and development.
