We are looking for a well
motivated, flexible individual who enjoys working as part of a team. You should have excellent communication skills and able to remain calm when working under pressure
Previous experience in this role would be helpful
but full training will be provided for the right person.
Main duties of the job
Our receptionists play an integral part in the smooth running of our Practice, providing high quality and patient focused care, you are the first point of contact for our patients and need to be able to communicate effectively and professionally. You will also need to have an excellent standard of administration and IT skills, with flexibility to cover additional working hours when needed.

We pride ourselves in offering a friendly, efficient and professional service catering for 25000 patients operating over 3 sites, two in Gorleston and one in Hopton. We have a dynamic team of GPs ANPs, Paramedics, Pharmacists, Practice Nurses, HCA's, Phlebotomist and support staff.

Administration
- To have
a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures.
- To work
in accordance with written protocols.
- Processing
electronic documents.
- Pulling/filing notes when
necessary and update as required
Reception
- Greeting
and helping patients with any enquiries.
- Handing
completed repeat prescriptions to patient and checking names and address.
- Covering
all Reception positions within the whole Practice as necessary.
Appointments
- Process
appointment and visit requests from patients by telephone, online and in
person.
Computer
- Registrations
of new patients computer data entry and medical records.
- Process
patients change of address computer data and medical records
- Understand
the layout and significance of Practice boundary.
- Process
repeat prescription requests in accordance with practice guidelines.
- Data
entry.
Telephone
- Have
working knowledge of telephone system, during and after hours.
Other Tasks
- Ensure building security have thorough
knowledge of doors/windows/alarm.
- Understand fire drill and panic alarm
procedure.
- Stock up clinical room.
- Make
coffee for Doctors/colleagues.
- Any other tasks allocated by senior staff.
- Attend all training required by the organisation.
- Chaperone clinical staff when requested
