Holmside Medical Group is looking to recruit enthusiastic and personable reception and administration staff to join our a split site practice, based in the west of Newcastle. Main duties of the job

  • Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to all patients and visitors to the practice
  • Manage the various appointments, visits and other bookings in line with agreed policies
  • Deal with general telephone enquiries from patients and general public
  • Record requests for repeat prescriptions
  • Prepare repeat prescriptions
  • Record and receipt of laboratory reports
  • Key in patient identification data to the computer
  • Register new patients and compile patient files
  • Compete templates on the computer
  • Record messages for clinical staff
  • Clinical coding
  • Manage projects with clear direction regarding expectations and outcomes

Job summary:

The successful candidate will work with the team to support the practice with general day to day running and have the ability to work to agreed protocols and procedures. Be an active member of the team and participate in the development of the practice. Work independently to complete identified projects to support the development of the practice.

Job responsibilities:

  • Support all job-holders across the practice to adhere to their individual responsibilities for infection control and health and safety..
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of health and safety and infection control statutory and best practice guidelines and ensure implementation across the business
  • Using personal security systems within the workplace according to practice guidelines
  • Identifying the risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks across the business
  • Making effective use of training to update knowledge and skills, and initiate and manage the training of others
  • Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards, and initiation of remedial/corrective action where needed
