Job summary
The position:
- 12 appointments per half-day session (15-minute appointments)
- Salary £11,461 per session
- No duty doctor days!
- 7 weeks annual/study leave; 1 day/yr for mandatory training
- Low visit frequency and visits carried out in place of appointments
- Below average registered list size
- Admin light: first line document management provided by admin team and pharm tech
- In-house mentorship and opportunity f0r fellowship programme for newly qualified GPs
- Buddy group system for cross cover and GP assistants to help GPs
Main duties of the job
To see patients according to the appointments system,which will include a mixture of triaged routine and urgent appointments plus telephone calls and telephone consultations:
participation in the daily triage of Engage Consult enquires; in addition to participation for the first hour of the day.
Administrative/paperwork/correspondence/results: The following duties relate to each session worked unless otherwise indicated and should be completed by the end of each session or full day worked.
To participate in other administrative tasks as reasonably delegated to you by the practice, e.g. review and action post and results, deal with messages, authorise repeat prescriptions, sign medical reports and certificates, some of which may be non-NHS
Required to attend Team meetings/practice meetings and clinical meetings where required.
Educational: CPD time for fellowship Tuesday AM (TBC)
Debriefing: with Dr Vanessa Good
Mentoring and support: with Dr Vanessa Good
Sessions of work reserved for continuing personal development (one session Tuesday AM)
Private reports/medical insurance etc. are completed and contracted out.
Specific roles within the practice (e.g. teaching medical students; QOF specialisation): To be decided.

- Conducting physical examinations, tests or procedures to diagnose patients

- Training junior Doctors and other healthcare professionals
