Job responsibilities

Our practice is currently seeking a Practice Nurse to join us. The position focuses on preventive care, including the administration of vaccinations and laboratory work, as well as the treatment of minor aliments. The successful candidate for this position will have experience in a Primary Care setting, superior communication and problem solving skills, and will enjoy working in a busy and rewarding environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide patient care during surgery hours
• Meeting patients nursing care needs
• Assess the health & well-being of patients
• Initiate and maintain health screening and health promotion clinics
• Manage patients nursing care needs in chronic disease management
• Annual Home visits for Flu/Covid to Housebound patients
• Give information about treatment and medications to patients
• Make referrals to Health care professionals, including Doctors and Hospitals, if appropriate
• Accurate and efficient input of data to maximise data for QOF and GMS contact as required
• Working closely with our experience HCA

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

• Must have valid NMC
• Must have valid Driving Licence

Desirable

• Qualified in Phlebotomy, Dressings and cervical smear

Experience

Essential

• Providing consultations to patients
• Accurately diagnosing some illnesses and providing correct treatments;
• Applying dressings and treating wounds;
• Providing health advice to their patients regarding their health conditions, as well as advice about fitness or diet according to government guidelines;
• Administering vaccinations and immunisations to patients of all ages;
• Keeping patient records up to date;
• Working alongside and communicating regularly with practice GPs, HCA, Pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.
