Job description
Due to the continued
growth and success of our PCN an exciting opportunity has arisen for an
empowering and action-orientated leader to join our team. As Clinical Director you will play a vital
role in developing the PCN to meet its key aims and objectives. You will help us to create strategic plans
and improve the quality of services delivered across the PCN.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities and
duties:
§ Provide clinical leadership for the PCN’s
strategic plans, working with members to improve the quality and effectiveness
of its delivery of the PCN DES.
§ Take responsibility of the clinical safety of the
PCN’s services and staff. Providing
clinical supervision.
§ Work collaboratively and network with other
Clinical Directors locally and nationally.
Representing the PCN at the CD board and ICS meetings. Being a voice for the PCN in the wider
system. Participating in the design
of services and system wide plans.
§ Leading and supporting quality improvement across
member practices (including professional leadership of QOF quality improvement
activity across the PCN).
§ Strategic leadership for workforce development
through assessment of clinical skill-mix and development of a PCN workforce
strategy.
§ Supporting PCN implementation of agreed service
changes and pathways. Working closely
with key stakeholders to support and deliver improvement programmes aligned to
national priorities and the effective management of the PCN’s population
health.

Qualifications
Essential
- Experience of working in a healthcare environment primary, secondary or community
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- IT Literacy including use of MS packages
- Ability to interact and communicate clearly with patients, colleagues and connected healthcare organisations
- Effective time management (planning & organising)
- Good interpersonal skills
Desirable
- Previous experience in a Clinical Leadership role.
- Understanding of Primary Care and PCN contractual environment and the deliverables within key contracts.
- Current registered professional i.e. GP, Nurse
- Understanding of clinical systems i.e. EMIS
