Job summary
Our practice nurse team is losing a colleague due to retirement. Very supportive team with good HCA team back up. We are looking for a full time or part time practice nurse to join our team.
This role would suit anyone who loves variety as our team will cover wound dressings, immunisations of adults and children, cervical cytology, minor illness and long term condition clinics.
The partnership actively encourages our nurse team to increase their skill set, supporting in house and off site training, if they wish to expand their knowledge and role within the team.
Main duties of the job
To give
skilled nursing care and advice to the practice population.
To
deliver evidence-based practice for patients presenting with a long term
condition and the
provision
of preventative healthcare to the practice population.
To
provide nursing treatments to patients independently or in participation with
General practitioner's
and other members of the Primary Health Care Team.
To work
within agreed protocols offering advice to patients and assisting GP's with the management
of agreed minor complaints/illnesses.
About us
Stokewood is a busy practice with 14 GPs, 3 ANPs, paramedic, clinical pharmacist and MSK practitioner as well as our practice nurses and HCA team, all supported by our admin and reception teams. We are part of Winchester Rural South PCN.
Staff are supported to carry on their personal development with in house and external courses in this forward thinking practice.
We have a number of social events and the teams also have their own social outings.

- Must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and patients. Good standard of written and spoken English is also essential.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a general practice setting.
- Experience in the management of long term conditions eg respiratory, cardiovascular or diabetes.
- LARC qualification

- Registration with NMC and to work within own competency and professional code of conduct undertaking appropriate continuous professional development in line with revalidation requirements.
- Will require transport to get between main and branch site with relevant license and insurance.
Desirable
- Qualification in Diabetes or respiratory LTC management
