Job summary
Market Harborough Pharmacy (Medical Centre based pharmacy), are looking for an experienced candidate with proven clinical pharmacist skills to join our busy practice. We are a GP-led forward-thinking practice, and you will be working with highly trained colleagues.
Salary: £48,000 - £53,000
Full time position with alternate weekends (4 hours on a Saturday)
- Monday - Friday AM shift = 40 hours
- Monday - Friday PM shift = 36 hours + 4 hours on Saturday = 40 hours.
Candidates must have passed CPPE primary care pharmacy education pathway and be confident in all pharmacy services.
GP Mentoring support for prescribing course offered (subject to agreement)
New PMR system being implemented to free up pharmacist time.
Main duties of the job
- Check patient prescriptions for accuracy and safety, ensuring no drugs are contraindicated with one another
- Dispense medication to patients
- Ensures legal compliance in the pharmacy, reviewing labels, doses, and procedures
- Secures and inventories controlled drugs to maintain compliance with regulations
- Supervises and trains other pharmacy staff, such as pharmacy technicians and assistants
- Communicates with doctors about prescriptions
- Advises patients on the proper use of prescription medication and answers questions about the drugs
- Discusses side effects and potential adverse interactions of drugs with patients
- Offers various wellness and health-screening services, such as blood-pressure monitoring, vaccine administration, PGD's and diabetes screening
- Manages the pharmacy's inventory, staff, and budget
- Remains apprised of latest pharmaceutical products, developments, and laws
- Uses pharmacy computer system to maintain records and track inventory
- Teaches other healthcare professionals about the prescription of various drugs
- Full involvement in all community pharmacy based services

Pharmacy. We are located within a medical centre setting and have excellent working
relationships with primary care. There is also an opportunity
to support pharmacists in obtaining their prescribing courses. The pharmacy has

- An undergraduate Masters Degree or equivalent in Pharmacy.
- Membership as practising pharmacist with The General Pharmaceutical Council.

Desirable
- Pharmacist independent prescriber registered with The General Pharmaceutical Council (preferred) or training to become an independent prescriber.
- Post-graduate qualification to Diploma or Masters level in a recognised area of pharmacy practice or equivalent.
Experience

- Relevant post registration experience of community, hospital and / or primary care pharmacy practice.
Desirable
- Experience or liaison with dispensing practices.
