Job summary

Market Harborough Medical Centre is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Paramedic to join or large Clinical team. This is an exciting new opportunity to join a busy, highly regarded, supportive and forward-thinking GP training practice.

A paramedic provides care for the presenting patients from initial history taking and clinical assessment, through to diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care.

We work with you to help you grow in your role and take your career in the direction you want to go. We’ll help you be the best you can be. You are expected to actively work toward developing and maintaining effective working relationships with our PCN.

Main duties of the job

  • Participate in all treatment and preventative healthcare services in the Practice as delegated and agreed by Supervising GPs.
  • Provide direct Clinical care to patients using established clinical guidelines.
  • Consult patients, take medical histories, perform physical examinations, analyse, diagnose and explain medical problems during consultations. 
  • Recommend and explain appropriate diagnostic tests and treatment.
  • Request and interpret results of laboratory investigations when necessary.
  • Instruct and educate patients in preventative healthcare.
  • Conduct telephone consultations where appropriate.
  • Fully document all aspects of patient care and complete all required paperwork for legal and administrative purposes.

About us

Market Harborough Medical Centre is in the centre of a busy market town and is one of three practices including St Luke’s and Husband Bosworth. We have a large list size of patients with a team of partners and salaried GPs. We have an experienced nursing team, and a variety of additional roles including physician’s associates. We have a very active and engaged PPG.

They will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to meet the needs of the patients, supporting the delivery of policies and procedures.

Mentorship and supervision will be provided by designated Senior medical personnel.
