The post is part time 16-24 hours working 2-3 days per week.
Main duties of the job
As a practice nurse at our GP surgery, you will be responsible for delivering essential healthcare services to our patients. Your main duties will include:
- Assisting with patient assessments and providing clinical care under the guidance of our medical team.
- Conducting immunizations, wound care, and other clinical procedures.
- Supporting chronic disease management and health promotion initiatives.
- Maintaining accurate medical records and documentation.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and outcomes.
About us
We are a friendly and welcoming GP Practice in the
heart of Killingworth, North Tyneside. The practice has a population of little
over 5200 registered patients. We have 5 GPs supported by an excellent
multi-disciplinary team of Nurses, One Nurse practitioner, two HCAs, one
Physician's associate, one pharmacist, and one pharmacy technician. We are also hoping to become a teaching practice in the near future for Doctors in
training and medical students

Essential
- Registered General Nurse (Currently registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council) Understanding and knowledge of policy developments related to the delivery of primary care services including General Practice, the GMS/PMS contract, Clinical Governance, Quality & Outcomes Framework Understanding of systems to gain an understanding of the health needs of the Practice population as they relate to primary care Understanding of evidence based practice Knowledge of national standards that inform practice (eg National Service Frameworks, NICE guidelines etc) Understanding of their accountability arising from the NMC Code of Professional Conduct (2004) Ability to assess and manage patient risk effectively and safely Well-developed word processing/data collection/IT skills Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Time management and ability to prioritise workload
