Join a friendly team! Our NHS GP Surgery is advertising for a Receptionist with some Administration duties.
Applicants should live local to North London (N22) and agree to travel to Surgery by public transport (limited local parking).
Working hours per week flexible on appointment between 31-37.5 depending on candidate preference.
Main duties of the job
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- All training will be given to a candidate who has not done this work before but is keen to learn.
- Experience in customer service would be helpful.
- Previous GP Practice reception work would be helpful.
- We're looking for someone who is friendly, enthusiastic and reliable with a polite calm manner.
- Knowledge of Emis Web (Optum) would be helpful but all training will be given.

Job responsibilities
- To answer the telephone promptly and deal with enquiries in a helpful and courteous manner, being able to always maintain confidentiality regarding patients and staff.
- Booking, cancelling and amending patient appointments using EMIS clinical system.
- To have an overview of the demands and workflow of the Practice during the working day.
- To be flexible to cover shifts in the event of staff holidays and sickness at short notice.
- When experienced, and working as part of the team, to help with some of:
- Ensure the waiting area/reception front desk is kept tidy and keep forms and patient information stocked up where possible.
- Managing medication stock, reconciling stock, ordering from suppliers to ensure sufficient quantities.
- Dealing with internal and external post.
- Processing end of month prescriptions and passing into GP
- Sending out weekly text messages to patients using iPlato messaging system.
- Monitoring drugs expiry dates and reporting when ordering necessary.
