Clinical Roles - Safeguarding Nurse - Canterbury
We are looking for a skilled Safeguarding Practitioner to lead clinical assessments and treatment, focusing on safeguarding and risk management. The role involves providing expert advice, managing clinical escalations, and supporting the development of strategies to improve service delivery. You will work autonomously, guide colleagues, and contribute to continuous service improvement while maintaining expertise in either the CYP or adult pathways.
Main duties of the job
- The Safeguarding Practitioner will provide expert knowledge in order to address the needs of people presenting for assessments and treatment including safeguarding. They will lead the development of initiatives and strategies utilising a high degree of personal autonomy. The post holder will advise, support and lead colleagues at an individual, team and organisational level by utilisation of their advanced knowledge and skill.
- Participate in supporting in the triage and screening processes.
- Identify and respond to clinical escalations and queries, providing clear, concise and supportive responses to queries from a variety of stakeholders including clients, clinicians, family members, referrers and the wider non-clinical team.
- Provide timely responses to clinical escalations within a 24h SLA.
- Provide specialist advice and support in relation to risk and safeguarding issues.
- Ensure that treatment files are managed safely and effectively, providing a smooth and seamless experience for clients.

- (RMN / RNLD/ HCPC or equivalent mental health professional) from an accredited institution.
- Specialization and significant experience in the assessment and treatment of ASD and ADHD (CYP/ adults/ both).
- Able to evidence your experience of managing risk and safeguarding issues within either a CAMHS or Psychiatric service.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, including within a multidisciplinary team.
- Maintaining compliance as per company regulations i.e., evidence of current registration with your professional body.
- Keep up to date all records in relation to CPD and your personal development plan.
