A new exiting opportunity
has arisen within Warrington Innovation Network to recruit a new GP Assistant.
This role is predominately to assist the PCN and clinical team in their daily
administrative duties to include some minor clinical tasks both in surgery and
in and around the local community. The ideal candidate will be someone with
experience of working within the health care sector. It is essential they will be well organised, flexible and highly
motivated.
We are looking for a forward thinking, flexible and adaptable candidate with experience working in primary care, it is essential the individual has a good understanding of general practice systems and processes and the ability to provide strategic, business, and operational support to our network.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work across all 7 member practices providing NHS health checks, phelbotomy and blood pressure checks amongst other services.

Job responsibilities
- Supporting clinicians with undertaking basic clinical activity such as history taking, conducting urinalysis, performing phlebotomy, taking blood pressure readings, administering vaccinations, checking a pulse, and possibly doing ECGs. (Training will be provided for any clinical activity that is required)
- Creating and maintaining personalised and patient centered care plans
- Delivering NHS Health checks in surgery and within the local community
- Tackling Health inequalities, promoting patient engagement and health promotion both within surgery and in and around the local community
- To seek out and develop opportunities, organise and deliver health checks and promotion within local community settings
- Arranging appropriate referrals, signposting patients, arranging tests and follow up appointments
- To deliver a range of back-office health care administration duties such as sorting, prioritising and signposting incoming clinical correspondence, extracting required information and applying medical codes to patient records
- Quality improvement auditing and reporting
- Attend, participate and support meetings
In addition to the primary responsibilities above, the GP assistant may be requested to:
- Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care
- Support and participate in shared learning within the organisation
- Any other admin or clinical related work as provided by the PCN Executive team/Practice Managers
