Job summary
General Practice Alliance is seeking a highly motivated and
compassionate Action for Happiness Northamptonshire Hub Coordinator. Northamptonshire Action for Happiness Hub was
founded in February 2017 and constituted in June 2019. The hub has grown from
Northampton to Northamptonshire and has multiple programmes of activity that
support individuals to adopt the ’10 Keys to Happier Living’. Northamptonshire
has become the exemplar site for the central international charity.
The work of the
Action for Happiness Northamptonshire Hub (AfHNH) is largely undertaken by
committed people offering their time and expertise in a voluntary capacity. To
ensure the ongoing success and further momentum of the Hub's work in relation
to establishing a social movement with the aim of promoting the health and
wellbeing of the population of Northamptonshire it has become necessary to
appoint a paid Coordinator. The post will be located within the GPA and will
coordinate actions to achieve the strategic aims and objectives of AfHNH.
Main duties of the job
The role is to
coordinate the various projects associated with Action for Happiness and to
grow a social movement spreading the ‘10 Keys to Happier Living’ in
Northamptonshire. This requires a test and learn and flexible approach in
partnership with the Action for Happiness Northamptonshire Executive and
Steering Groups. The role is being
hosted by General Practice Alliance in partnership with the Action for
Happiness Northamptonshire Hub.
The postholder
will champion and cascade the central Action for Happiness pledge “I will try
to create more happiness and less unhappiness in the world around me”. The post is varied and will work across
health, social and, third sector organisations as well as the community to encourage
individuals and organisations to take action to support their own personal
wellbeing and to encourage those in their (social) networks to adopt the ’10
Keys to Happier Living’.
The post holder
will understand the importance of wellbeing and be using the ’10 Keys to
Happier Living’ in their own lives. This
is an exciting time to join both General Practice Alliance and Action for
Happiness Northamptonshire as both organisations are growing and expanding
within Northampton and Northamptonshire.
Most importantly this role will support our county to take action to be ‘Happier
and Kinder, Together.’
