Job summary

Join our happy GP practice team as a practice nurse.

Were looking for an experienced nurse with leadership skills or wanting to develop leadership and mentoring skills and a passion for patient-centred care. We will support further training e.g. a prescribing qualification.

Main duties of the job

  • Oversee the nursing team, ensuring high-quality patient care.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to staff, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Support continuous improvement of clinical work.

Job responsibilities

Screening & Health Promotion

  • Conduct QOF screening (BP, BMI, urinalysis), new patient checks.
  • Assess patient health needs, offer basic nutrition and lifestyle advice, and provide referrals as required.

Vaccinations & Immunisations

  • Deliver adult and child immunisations, adhering to safe storage and disposal guidelines for vaccines.

Travel Health Advice

  • Provide comprehensive travel health guidance, including vaccinations, malaria prevention, and safety tips.

Infection Control

  • Follow infection control protocols, including hygiene, specimen handling, and waste management.

Emergency Management

  • Stay proficient in anaphylaxis and resuscitation, attending regular training.

Diabetes & Respiratory Disease Management

  • Perform basic diabetic checks.

Chronic Disease Management

  • Support patients in managing conditions.

Home Visits

  • Support our carehomes and housebound patients
