Job summary
Following a reorganisation at Gordon Street Surgery, this new and exciting role is available. We are looking for someone to join our friendly team who will be supported by the Practice Manager and the admin team.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be required to work as part of a team as well as on their own, using their own initiative. The role is extremely varied and interesting which requires previous experience but willingness to learn. The role will involve various admin duties, as well as claims, ordering, etc.
Experience of workin General Practice is essential.
Experience in using Emis is essential.
The hours will be 25 hours per week.
About us
We are a well-established Practice based in Burton-on-Trent who deliver a wide range of services to our 10,800 patients.
Our friendly team consists of 4 GP Partners, Nurse Practitioner, Nurses, HCAs, Phlebotomist, Practice Manager, Reception Manager, Assistant to Reception Manager, a reception team and admin team.
The Practice is supported by a variety of community teams such as Midwives, Health Visitors and District Nurses.
We are a busy team and work well together. We operate from a purpose built premises with plenty of staff parking.

- Day to day operational duties of the Practice
- Submitting claims for Enhanced Services, PPA, minor surgery, LARCs, etc
- Use CQRS to submit claims and produce reports
- Use of PCSE for registration queries, rejections, urgent medical records, etc
- Maintaining adequate stationary, office and clinical supplies
- Data quality EMIS searches and templates to upload onto EMIS
- Trained on Arden Reporting and familiar with Ardens Manager
- Read coding, diary dating, etc
- Cytology queries
- GP2GP
- Sorting through the Lloyd George notes
