Job summary
Our busy medical Practice is currently seeking an Audio Typist to assist our healthcare
team with documenting patient medical records. The ideal candidate will provide the highest quality customer service
to patients, adhere to practice protocols and processes, and effectively manage
the volume of work without allowing quality to be compromised.
You will also need to provide a service to our patients, arranging appointments for referral through the ERS system. Full training will be given in how the system works.
If you feel you are organised, accurate, efficient, flexible and a good team player with excellent communication skills, this role may be for you.
Consideration given to job share/part time hours. Salary dependent on experience.
Main duties of the job
Main Responsibilities: Accurate
& timely transcribe from digital dictation of outpatient clinic &
misc. clinical correspondence. Ensure follow-through for patients is complete
& handed promptly to the relevant dept/GP's. Provide cover when needed. Use of
Patient Healthcare Systems, various IT packages & databases. Provide
an Appt service to patients. Provide a
service to external visitors to the Practice. Receive & process
telephone calls. Filing/archiving of clinical correspondence. Comply with
H&S policies. Uphold confidentiality. Explain clearly
to patients how to use current Practice services. Stay up to date with Practice
policies & protocols. Attend Staff meetings, in house Best meetings, mandatory
training, PHC meetings. Undertake other reasonable
tasks as requested by the Management Team. Person Spec: Excellent communication skills
- verbal & written, computer lit, good office skills, accurate, able to meet timescales & a flexible
team player to meet needs of the service.

Newgate Medical Group (NMG) is a welcoming & busy single practice Primary Care Network (PCN) with over 30500 patients.
We are a large Practice. We have an established team of 9 GP Partners & a host of varied health professionals including pharmacists, nurses, ANP's, PAs, Paramedics, Physiotherapist, Social prescribing link worker, care co-ordinators, mental health wellbeing practitioners & a large admin team.
We process 300+ clinical contracts each day that the successful candidate will work on within their department, managing all admin, typing, filing & telephone duties related to this role. You will form part of an existing team, working together to maintain a high quality service.

To provide an efficient and responsive service to the patients and Clinicians within the Practice and undertake related administrative tasks. Flexibility will be required in order to provide cover when necessary. You will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties and the provision of admin support to the multidisciplinary team.
Duties can include, but are not limited to, the processing of information (electronic and hard copy) in a timely manner, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers in accordance with current policies, including the use of the electronic referral service (ERS).
You will be responsible for the timely audio typing and transcription of all clinical correspondence within the Practice. You will need to ensure the clinical correspondence is typed and processed within specified timescales. You need fast and accurate audio typing skills and a good knowledge of medical terminology.
Ensure any required follow-through for patients is completed by checking appointments are recorded, patient names accurately input and procedures followed.
This role requires use of the Patient Healthcare Systems and various IT packages and databases. You will also be required to work as part of a team to ensure a high quality service is maintained at all times.
