We are looking for a Medical Secretary Apprentice
to join our growing GP practice to provide secretarial/administrative support to multidisciplinary teams.
This is a fantastic opportunity to grow & learn within the business.
You need to be keen to learn whilst working towards a level
3 in Business Administration.
If you are highly motivated, can work with
initiative, have excellent communication & IT skills, the ability to work as part of a team, or
autonomously then we would love to hear from you.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for undertaking a wide range of secretarial/administrative duties and the administrative support to multidisciplinary teams at practice.
Duties may include:Processing information (electronic/hard copy), liaising with multidisciplinary team/external agencies and following policies, including the use of the electronic referral service (ERS).

Newgate Medical Group is a welcoming and busy GP Practice
located in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, providing regulated NHS services to our
patients.
We are a large Practice with over 30,000 registered
patients. We have an established team of 9 GP Partners and a host of varied
health professionals including clinicians, receptionists, and large admin team,
totalling approximately 80+ employed staff, plus agency workers.

Job responsibilities
- Typing letters, reports and associated documentation as required in a timely and accurate manner.
- Liaising with external agencies such as hospitals and community services, ensuring referrals are processed efficiently.
- Managing all enquires in an effective manner.
- Maintaining an accurate referrals database.
- Actioning all incoming email.
- Inputting data into the patients healthcare records as necessary.
- Processing referrals using the electronic referral system (ERS).
- Processing requests for information i.e., SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLA forms.
- Answering department phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately.
- Managing all administrative queries as necessary.
- Maintaining a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times.
- Supporting all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested.
