conscientious Medical Receptionist/Call Handler. If you enjoy working in a

Main duties of the job
Working as a Medical Receptionist/Call Handler in the practice requires excellent customer service skills. Experience of call handling in a busy and changing environment is desirable but not essential. As a member of the reception team, you will be required to use your excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work confidently and in a calm manner when under pressure and dealing with several tasks at once. Confidentiality is key to the role which requires honesty, discretion, and a sympathetic approach.
We are a SystmOne practice, to use the
clinical system, you will need a good level of IT literacy. Familiarity with
Microsoft Office and the use of emails is essential.

This is a permanent role with an NHS pension, four weeks annual leave including bank holidays (pro rata). Additional staff benefits include NHS Blue Light card and Cycle scheme.

Job responsibilities
To assist with the smooth
running of the reception area within the practice. Presenting a positive,
can-do attitude and a friendly image to all our Patient’s and outside agencies,
in person and over the phone.
Main duties include;
- To
ensure all telephone calls are managed appropriately and within a timely
manner, making appointments on System One, by processing appointment requests
for on the day and routine appointments from patients in person and on the
telephone.
- To
manage the flow of patients arriving at the reception desk, for appointments,
prescriptions, or queries in a timely manner.
- To
ensure that repeat prescriptions are generated accurately and efficiently,
within the 48 hours specified by the practice.
- Dealing
with Patient tasks appropriately.
- Opening
and sorting the surgery post, ensuring it goes to the correct personnel. Scanning
incoming correspondence, including patient clinic letters.
Liaising
with all teams within the surgery. always Ensuring confidentiality and attention
to detail at all times.
Covering
for other Reception team members may be required for sickness and annual leave.
Ensuring
building security/premises at the end of the day and ensure the building is
totally secured, internal lights off and alarm activated.
To
carry out any other duties agreed between employee and the practice to ensure
the smooth running of the practice.
