Job summary

BRADLEY'S PRACTICE - We are looking for an Assistant Practice Manager to oversee the day to day management of the practice at both sites (Mold & Buckley) in along side the Practice Manager.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a self-motivated individual who is capable of working on their own initiative and also who can work well with others. You would need to be well organised and have a drive to make a difference and be proactive in solving problems. Role involves organising and processing of non NHS (private work), working on clinical audits, and working on health care promotion.

About us

At Bradley's Practice we have 10 GP partners, Nurses, Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Health Care Assistants - these clinical staff are supported by reception and admin staff, who in turn are all managed by our Practice Manager. We are a dual sited practice with offices in both Buckley and Mold which cover a wide practice area, with approx 16500 patients.

Job description

Job responsibilities

1 BUILDING MANAGEMENT

1.1 To deputise for Operations Manager and Practice Manager when absent with the daily overall management of both surgery buildings.

1.2 Produce and monitor risk assessments/coshh requirements for Buckley surgery

2 PERSONNEL AND TRAINING

2.1 Management of operational issues on a daily basis with clinical staff and administration team

2.2 Assist in the development and maintenance of protocols for staff use.

2.3 Assist with any queries from medical students, foundation year doctors and registrars.

2.4 Produce monthly attendance records and return to work contacts for HEIW with regards to trainees.

2.5 Assist with appraisals for administrative personnel and clinical staff.

2.6 Authorise overtime and time in lieu documentation for admin and clinical team.

2.7 Chair and lead on admin meetings on a bi- monthly basis

2 INFORMATION AND TECHNOLOGY

2.1 Report isues relating to fundamental breakdown in operations to either site liaising with IT supervisor and clinical system providers.

2.2 Provide audits for clinical staff and partners.

3 SUPERVISION OF COMPLAINTS SYSTEM

3.1 Liaise and Manager work of Clinical Governance Officer

3.2 Deal with On the spot complaints and deputise for Clinical Governance officer with regards to formal complaints.

4 FINANCES

4.1 Operate enhanced service claim system using health board FPPS

4.2 Produce monthly VAT reports when required

4.3 Review and process payments on invoices presented when requested

4.4 Management of cytology and childhood immunisations payment system and maximise income for enhanced services.

4.5 Provide statistical evidence of comparison of uptake for all vaccinations.
