Job summary

BRADLEY'S PRACTICE - This post is based at both sites, Mold & Buckley. We are a Vision practice with two newly built buildings which service 15000 patients. We are a dispensing and training practice. The role of a salaried GP include - providing a full range of general practice consultations, training medical students and junior doctors, taking part in creating new services as well as being involved in clinical research.

Main duties of the job

Provide telephone/ face to face consultations, including home visits. Recording clear consultation notes on the Vision consultation system. Support practice nurses, GP colleagues, HCA's and other clinical professionals. Dealing with incoming test results and correspondence. Supporting members of the admin team within the practice, workingwithin current BCUHB medicine management guidance. Take part in any clinical research trials.

Participate in clinical team meeting when required. Assist Clinical Governance Officer in maintain and improving protocols within the Practice.

About us

Here at Bradleys we are a 2 sited practice with a full compliment of clinical and non clinical staff. They include:- 10 GP partners, 2 ANP's, 1 Pharmacist, 1 Associated physiotherapist and Audiologist, 5 practice nurses and 3 HCA's.

This team is backed up with 2 managers , Clinical Governance Officer and other supervisory staff in addition to reception and admin staff.

Job description

Job responsibilities

CLINICAL DUTIES

  1. Provide range of general practice consultations - telephone, face to face, including home visits, urgent and non-urgent appointments for registered and unregistered patients.
  2. 25 patients per day to manage by appointment, including those after telephone triage needing face to face appointment.
  3. Recording clear and cotemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards on INPS Vision system.
  4. Supporting of Practice nurses, gp colleagues, hcas and other clinical professionals.
  5. Compiling, issuing and checking computer generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
  6. Dealing with incoming tests results and correspondence and when necessary referring to admin team for further action. Anticipation of one hour per day
  7. Produce clinical referrals for despatch.
  8. Support to other members of the administrative team within the practice .
  9. Work within current BCUHB Medicines Management guidance.
  10. Take part in any clinical research trials.

11. To promote clinical excellence and quality of service.

GENERAL DUTIES

  1. To attend all mandatory training courses and any specific to your role.
  2. Participate in clinical team meetings when required.
  3. Provide clinical mentorship to university students, FY2s and Registrars.
  4. To represent practice at cluster meetings and with other partner agencies.
  5. Maintain consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance and adherence to relevant health and safety.
  6. Assist Practice Manager with the production of QAIFF reports and audits.
  7. To assist Clinical Governance Officer in maintaining and improving protocols within the practice. To provide assistance with management policies and guidelines.

8 To assist management with learning events from significant adverse events and provide peer support

9 To take part with computerised training as per Practice strategic plan.

  1. To work in a safe environment and work in conjunction with other colleagues to co-operate with management to meet its own legal duties.

11 To provide accurate records whether paper based or on computer and conform to any data protection act priniciples.

CONTINUOUS PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

1 To take part in all responsibilities relating to GP revalidation and appraisals.

2 To continuously strive to learn new working practices and to reflect on any personal learning requirements.

3 Maintain confidentiality of patients in accordance with practice policies

4 Observe all protocols and procedures within the practice and refer to management or senior GP of any significant issues.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Hold appropriate medical qualification to practice medicine in the UK.
  • Fully registered with General Medical Council with current Licence to Practise.
  • Hold a JCPTGP certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Registered on a PCT Principal or supplementary Performers list with no restrictions to practise.
  • Not suspended or disqualified from practise or on any conditional inclusion list with any PCT.

Desirable

  • DCH/DCCH and or DRCOG Over 6 months experience of working independently in General Practice MRCGP.
