Job summary

Assistant Practice Operations Manager Post for our Tower Hamlets Practices.

We are looking for an accomplished, versatile, and highly organised person with appropriate experience to join our management team, providing on the ground assistant practice management and leadership.

Your main role will be to assist the Senior Practice Operations Manager in the management of the surgery and premises to deliver high quality care to the patient population.

Shift patterns will include early morning and evenings.

Main duties of the job

Responsibilites:

Deputise for the Senior Practice Operations Manager in their absence, with the support of Senior Management

Co-operating with the SPOM on day to day operational/ work issues

Line management of the supervisors and oversee line management of non-clinical team

Attend, participate, and take minutes of practice meetings

Maintain adequate cover for all staff during surgery hours, including sickness and holidays

Allocate specified tasks requested by doctors and other members of the primary health care team

Deal with staff issues, which directly affect the working environment e.g. booking of locum GPs and cover staff in line with the budget or practice allocation.

Ensure all administrative systems are running smoothly and make recommendations for improvements as necessary

Review and update the practices protocols

Maintain clinical registers and overseeing the call/ recall process

Maintain practice inventory of equipment and organise repair and replacement where necessary following discussion with the SPOM

Ensure the Health and Safety Policy is updated and carry out H+S checks as regularly as required. To report any risks to the SPOM
