Job summary

We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst with advanced experience in Tableau to join our NHS Practitioner Health team. In this role, you will use data to inform and enhance the delivery of care, support our patient services, and streamline operational efficiency. Your expertise in Tableau will be essential in visualising complex datasets, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to improve patient pathways and service outcomes. Main duties of the job

As a Data Analyst, you will work collaboratively across departments, analysing and interpreting data to support the NHS Practitioner Health service. You will be responsible for producing dashboards, conducting trend analyses, and reporting on key metrics to support decision-making and improve patient care delivery.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Design, develop, and maintain advanced Tableau dashboards to visualise patient flow, service utilisation, and outcomes.

Review the use of Tableau, Tableau Prep and Cloud by the Data Team and make recommendations for improvement.

Extract, clean, and analyse data from multiple sources to identify trends, capacity issues, and areas for process enhancement. Undertake a review of existing data processes and make recommendations.

Provide regular reports and performance metrics to support clinical and operational decision-making.

Work closely with clinicians and administrators to identify and monitor patient outcomes, developing reports that support quality improvement initiatives.

Conduct root-cause analysis for any issues identified in patient pathways, capacity, or outcome metrics and suggest data-driven solutions.

Deliver presentations and data interpretation to cross-functional teams to inform service planning and enhancements.

Data Visualisation and Reporting:

Develop, maintain, and optimise Tableau dashboards to ensure they are clear, intuitive, and aligned with the needs of the organisation.

Generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on key performance indicators and patient outcomes

Review the use of Tableau, Tableau Prep and Cloud by the Data Team and make recommendations for improvement. Extract, clean, and analyse data from multiple sources to identify trends, capacity issues, and areas for process enhancement.

Undertake a review of existing data processes and make recommendations.

Hold responsibility for the operational reporting across the service, which includes the design, development, roll-out and maintenance of tableau dashboards to the frontline teams.

Use statistical and analytical techniques to explore and interpret large datasets, providing meaningful insights into patient flow, capacity, and service delivery. Work with the Operations, Clinical and Finance Teams within the organisation to understand the service, providing crucial data for decision-making. Deliver presentations and data interpretation to cross-functional teams to inform service planning and enhancements. Support the fulfillment of approved data requests from internal and external stakeholders

Collaboration and Communication

Partner with Patient Services, clinicians, and leadership to share insights, communicate findings, and support data-driven decision-making. Present data in a clear, accessible manner for non-technical stakeholders

Continuous Improvement:

Identify and suggest improvements in data processes, reporting, and analytics workflows. Contribute to projects that enhance service quality and operational efficiency.

Data Quality and Governance:

Ensure high standards of data accuracy and integrity. Regularly clean, validate, and maintain data for reliable reporting and analysis.

Skills transfer

Work closely with the Data Team learning from them, whilst at the same time reciprocally passing on your skills.

Help Practitioner Health become a data driven organisation, helping to ensure data and evidence is at the heart of our operations.

Essential

  • A degree undergraduate or graduate in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, physics, maths, economics, or computer science
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst, ideally in a healthcare setting, producing reports and presenting data.
  • Advanced certifications in Tableau or data analytics
