Location: SE, London

Hurley Group are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic communications professional looking to develop your career in an NHS organisation that runs a number of practices, urgent care centres across London and the only mental health treatment service for health and care professionals across England.

We are looking for a Communications Officer to join our central communications team and play an active role in transforming our staff engagement and both our internal and external communications activities. Motivated and ambitious, you will be seeking to further develop your career as a communications professional.

The communications officer will be responsible on a day-to-day basis for supporting the delivery of corporate communications across the organisation. The post-holder will be involved in all aspects of our work including internal communications, digital communications, media relations and reputation management, publications, events and campaigns. Taking a proactive, organised, and innovative approach to your work, you will make a real impact to staff experience and engagement and help to transform the organisations external profile.

Main duties of the job

The primary location will be in SE London with occasional visits to Docklands Medical Centre. Please see locations below.

Docklands Medical Centre

Docklands Medical Centre is a healthcare facility located in the Docklands area of London, offering (GP) services to the local community in Tower Hamlets.

Practitioner Health

The NHS Practitioner Health is a National (England wide) service for Doctors with mental health and addiction issues which may be affecting their ability to work safely and effectively, or return to work. The PH service aims to deliver positive outcomes in relation to;

  • improvement in mental health and social functioning
  • numbers returning to work/retraining
  • reduction in risk to patients and the public
  • reduction in regulatory involvement

Primary Care Gambling

The Primary Care Gambling Service (PCGS) is now an established service across London with the potential for expansion. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to develop their knowledge in the field of gambling harm. The aim of the service is to provide a bridge between NHS primary and specialist care which allows GPs and other trained healthcare professionals to directly refer patients for support with problem gambling.
