Mental Health Nurse London or Leeds based
This has been a difficult year for the NHS workforce, and at
NHS Practitioner Health we have seen the numbers of patients accessing our
service rising and services expanding. We are looking to appoint two mental
health nurses to join our multi-disciplinary team of GPs, psychiatrists, nurses
and therapists caring for the NHS workforce. This is an exciting opportunity to
join the Mental Health team of the year (2019) and make a real difference to
the lives of health professionals suffering with mental illness and ensure they
get appropriate treatment to help them recover and return to work.

Main duties of the job
We have hub sites in both London and Leeds and post holders will be attached to one of these for face to face work, as well as providing virtual care from an appropriate setting. These posts are full time, employed positions, but we are also open to secondment opportunities as well as people seeking part time/job share roles.
The
key job functions are threefold as described in the Health for Health
Professionals (HHP) Competency Framework.
Clinical
will include the roles of assessment, treatment, care planning, referral and
signposting, specialist prescribing and monitoring please refer to the job description for more information.
About us
NHS PH is a National (England wide) service for
Doctors with mental health and addiction issues which may be affecting their
ability to work safely and effectively, or return to work.
The service will also soon be expanding to cover
Scotland (late 2020). Our Scottish service will be for all health and social
care staff.

As a key member of NHS PH you will provide care to PH patients, participating as a core team member carrying out triage for new
contacts and referrals, assessments of new patients, ongoing case management
and liaison to other providers who might be involved in the care of the
patients.
You will be responsible for managing a caseload of sick health
professionals, assessing risk and providing holistic support to manage their
programme of care.
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team which includes GPs,
specialist nurses, psychiatrists and therapists. As a full time member of the
team you will be expected to attand several of the MDTs running throughout the
week and contribute accordingly.

- Registered with the NMC; in current clinical practice
- Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable
- MRCGP or MRCPsych or RMN + HHP or equivalent
- Part 1& 2 RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse or equivalent
- Prescribing qualification
- Evidence of postgraduate study in sub-stance misuse Part 2 RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse or equivalent such as other specialist psychiatric experience in a related field e.g. eating disorders

Essential
- Minimum 5 years post qualification experi-ence in managing mental health
- Significant experience of working in mental health and/or addiction
- Empathy and an understanding of distressed patients, many of whom will have been reluctant to contact the service
- Experience of working with sick health professionals
- Experience of producing reports, assess-ments and presentations involving highly complex information.
- Experience of providing, receiving and processing sensitive or contentious infor-mation and communicating this effectively.
- Experience of building and developing effective working relationships and networking with senior professionals
- Personal clinical supervision
