Salaried Permanent 4-6 session GP
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed salaried sessional GP to join our practice team, to provide the full Primary Care service to our patients. Experience in an area of special interest is an advantage!

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will:
- make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations, visiting patients at home, on-call sessions, signing EPS prescriptions and dealing with paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
- Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation .
- Assess the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems, developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice protocols
- Provide counselling and health education
- Refer patients to other care providers as appropriate
- Record clear and contemporaneous electronic consultation notes to agreed standards
- Collect data for audit purposes & contribute to clinical audits
- Compile and issue acute and repeat prescriptions in line with practice policy, and prescribe in accordance with the prescribing formulary
We would like you to take an interest in improving practices for the benefit of the team and patients, participate in clinical meetings and practice-wide training sessions, and contribute to regular safeguarding meetings.
About us
We are a busy, friendly and supportive team located in Cherry Hinton (Fishers Lane) with a branch two miles away (towards the city centre) on Seymour Street. This role will require you to work at both sites.
We look after approximately 11,000 patients, occupy purpose built premises, and are an EMIS practice.
We have informal daily clinical meetings and run periodic bite size clinical tutorials.We pride ourselves on delivering professional medical care in a friendly environment while striving to meet all the challenges of modern General Practice.
The clinical team is made of up Partner and Salaried GPs, a clinical Pharmacist, Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistants.We are members of the local Primary Care Network providing extended services as a hub to the local community.
