Job summary

NCPC Carlisle Locality is recruiting a Safeguarding Administrator to work with the Safeguarding leads across the 2 Carlisle NCPC Practices; Eden Medical Group and Warwick Square Group Practice. If you have strong administrative skills and are interested in organising and co-ordinating care for patients and working to support vulnerable children and adults this could be just the role for you.

Main duties of the job

Working with the GP Safeguarding lead across the Carlisle Locality NCPC practices; Eden Medical Group and Warwick Square Group Practice. You will be responsible for organising and attending in-house and MDT Safeguarding/risk management meetings, tracking safeguarding activities and preparing reports/care plans to support clinical care and decision making. Most importantly you will provide direct support to the GP Safeguarding Lead on a Carlisle locality footprint freeing up their clinical time from reducing the significant safeguarding administrative workload

Job description

Job responsibilities

To act as the first point of contact for all safeguarding enquiries, from internal practice staff and also external safeguarding stakeholders, on behalf of the GP Safeguarding Lead.

Working autonomously to self-direct and manage safeguarding workload across the Carlisle locality. This includes handling of reports and clinical documents, such as A&E letters and Talking Therapies letters, as a means of reducing GP workload.

To provide detailed weekly updates to the GP Safeguarding Lead on matters arising and provide summaries of ongoing or completed work for clinical oversight.

To manage the diary for the GP Safeguarding Lead including organisation of meetings and prioritisation of events.

To collate appropriately redacted reports for childrens services from information held on the clinical system in a timely manner to meet set deadlines.To provide advice and guidance to clinical staff on safeguarding activities including coding on patients records.

To problem solve complex safeguarding queries and provide relevant options for clinicians determination.

To provide families and carers of babies and young children information relating to missed immunisations, including the associated risks. Encouragement of uptake by means of a three-step hastening process that requires close working relationships with practice nurse teams.

To maintain lists of vulnerable adults through interaction with adult social services as a means of organising weekly meetings in which patients are discussed.

To provide administrative support to the safeguarding processes and activities across Carlisle Locality practices.

Ensure Safeguarding polices and processes are up to date and maintained at each practice within the locality.

Review clinical records to prepare accurate and concise safeguarding reports and chronologies

Support practices with safeguarding training for staff

Support practices with CQC compliance related to Safeguarding activities

Undertake any other Safeguarding related activities as requested by the Safeguarding leads.
