This
is an opportunity for a motivated individual to further their career in primary
healthcare by joining Sacriston Surgery as a Practice Clinical Pharmacist.
You will have experience of working in Primary Care in a similar role, be a qualified and experienced prescriber, and will use your existing
skills to support the growing organisational requirements.
You
will work in collaboration with a range of other teams and stakeholders.
Effective communication skills are essential.
The
job will provide you with a range of different experiences and challenges, working
alongside both clinical and non-clinical staff in a dynamic general practice environment.
Main duties of the job
Working within
your clinical and professional boundaries as a practice based prescribing
pharmacist, within a patient facing role as part of a multidisciplinary team. The
post holder will comply with the practices policies and procedures.

We are a friendly and welcoming
practice team, with a forward-thinking partnership (4 GPs and 1 non-clinical partner),
working from a modern, purpose-built 3-storey eco-friendly building (ample free
car parking) in this former mining village, situated outside of Durham City and
easily accessible to commuter routes (e.g. Newcastle, Sunderland, the A1). We
are an EMIS practice, with a growing patient list of currently circa. 10,700 patients.
We are seeking
someone who wants to deliver excellent standards of patient care, is forward-thinking, positive, with a 'can do' attitude.
We are a training practice, very keen to foster the current and future
generations of general practice staff. We offer excellent CPD opportunities, and mentoring for those newly
qualified.

- Specialist knowledge acquired through postgraduate diploma level or equivalent training/experience.

- Minimum of one year's post-qualification experience.
- In depth therapeutic and clinical knowledge and understanding of the principles of evidence-based healthcare.
- An appreciation of the nature of PCNs, GPs and general practices.
- An appreciation of the nature of primary care prescribing, concepts of rational prescribing and strategies for improving prescribing.
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate complex and sensitive. information in an understandable form to a variety of audiences (e.g., patients).
