Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced receptionist to join a friendly and high achieving General practice with circa 12,000 patients.
Previous general practice experience is preferred, but not essential as training will be provided. We are looking for someone who is flexible with excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills who enjoys dealing with the public. Good telephone skills are essential and the successful applicant will have experience in using computer equipment for data entry.
The Practice is an EMIS WEB user. Competitive Salary with 4 weeks annual leave. NHS Pension Scheme Membership available.

Main duties of the job
Receive phone calls from patients, arrange appointments and book them on to the computer system provided.
Deal with queries and record messages accurately.
Greet patients, Doctors and visitors at the reception desk and deal with them in a polite and friendly manner.
Administer the procedure for repeat prescriptions and pathology results
Scanning and workflow of documents onto our main computer medical system EMIS
Support colleagues to maintain an efficient and friendly team atmosphere.
Processing and distributing incoming mail/emails.
Maintain patient notes alphabetically in the filing system.
Ensure that the reception and waiting room areas are kept tidy.

The Practice has a team of 41 staff in total 9 of which are medical receptionists working a mixture of full and part time hours and we are looking for someone to join our friendly and professional team.
