The role will encompass working across two sites in Ash Vale
and Frimley Green, working with a dynamic team of professionals. Bartlett Group
Practice is a training practice and welcomes the opportunity to evolve your
learning and grow within our practice team.
This role will be working within our existing nursing team,
seeing a variety of patients and delivering excellent care. The successful
applicant will ideally have experience of working in a primary care environment,
but this is not essential as training will be provided.
They will be an excellent communicator, work well under
pressure, be able to effectively manage their time, be flexible and be able to
work as part of a team as well as autonomously.
The successful applicant will ideally work full time Monday
to Friday; however, part time hours will be considered but these will include a
Monday and Friday.
Previous phlebotomy experience is helpful but not essential.
You will need to have excellent communication skills with a natural aptitude
for building relationships with patients and colleagues, empathy, and a
positive attitude.
Main duties of the job
The purpose of the post is to assist the GP and nursing team
in the delivery of a safe and high-quality primary care services for the
practice population.
The post holder will undertake delegated tasks and duties
under direct or indirect supervision.
The post holder will work within clear parameters and lines
of accountability after appropriate training and assessment of competencies.
The post holder will be responsible for performing
venepuncture to obtain blood samples from patients only as the result of a
direct referral from a GP or clinician, or as part of medication reviews.

Ensuring all samples are stored in appropriate containers.
Recording collection of blood sample in patient record in
accordance with practice procedure.
Ensuring that samples are dispatched to the appropriate
laboratories in a timely fashion.
Ensuring that anomalies are reported to a senior member of
staff.
To undertake any other duties appropriate within the bounds
of their own competency and in discussion with their line manager, including
but not limited to:
To undertake infection prevention and control measures
within the Practice.
To assist with ordering of clinical stock and supplies for
the Practice as required.
To assist with monitoring and maintaining of medical
equipment and devices.
