Cleaner (Domestic Assistant)

Job summary

To keep the Surgery in a clean, tidy and orderly manner.

Ensure standards are met in relation to CQC, Infection control, patient and staff comfort and safety.

Working hours are approximately 6:30-11:30am (with some negotiation/variation

Work alongside a small team of colleagues

Uniform and Pension provided

Main duties of the job

To work as a member of the cleaning team to ensure that the practice premises are cleaned in line with practice schedules and specifications. This will include but not limited to:

Vacuum all areas of the surgery

Removal of domestic waste

Removal of Clinical waste in line with the practice policy

Removal of sharps in line with the practice policy

Clean all sinks and working surfaces that have been in use

Clean and disinfect toilets

Damp dusting surfaces

Tidy rooms and work areas

Notify line manager of any breakages, hazards, issues or areas for concern

Remove dishes from rooms, load, run and unload the dishwasher daily

Clean kitchen areas

Wash floors

Check towels and replace as necessary

Disinfect patient couches

Open and lock the surgery daily, making sure the alarm is activated and lights are turned off when leaving

Check stock of cleaning materials and complete order form if you need more

Clean doors including glass

Clean upholstery

Spot clean any carpet stains

Empty vacuum bag

Put rubbish out for collection on correct day

See to any spillages

Cleaning paint work i.e. skirting boards

Arrange spring cleaning schedule

Ensure Infection Control Standards are adhered to

Plan cleaning schedule to meet Infection Control Standards

Ensure Data Safety Sheets for products are updated and adhered to

Ensure mandatory training is completed to schedule.
