Job summary

Mosborough Health Centre has a great opportunity for a Medical Secretary to join their team on a part time basis for 16 hours a week. Days of work areMonday, Tuesday and Thursday.

This is an essential front line role at the practice, providing an efficient, comprehensive secretarial and administrative support service to the GP's, Practice Manager and Practice Nurses including audio typing, copy typing and word processing as required.

Main duties of the job

  • All Practice word-processing including audio typing and copy typing.

  • Enable efficient internal and external communication.

  • Type referral letters, e-referrals, medical reports, correspondence, meeting agendas and minutes in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Inform GP's of patient related issues, as necessary.

  • Handling patient and practice queries and liaising with other Health Professionals regarding appointments, treatments and confidentiality.

  • Record and distribute requests for medical attendance / insurance reports - also to use the IGPR tool to help with this.

  • Ensuring that any requests for information from medical records are appropriately dealt with, according to practice policy, and that all subsequent charges are invoiced appropriately.

  • Dealing with Hospital correspondence, ensuring relevant actions are taken and read coded appropriately.

  • Scanning of clinical post.

  • Designing template letters and forms for use throughout the practice, as required.

  • Performing any reasonable administrative tasks, as requested by the Practice Manager / Practice Administrator.
