GP Surgery in Palmers Green London is looking for a candidate who has excellent telephone manner, a willingness to learn, patience and tolerance in the face of adversity. If you have the resilience to deal with the often demanding manner of general public and a can-do attitude, then we have the job for you.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience as a medical receptionist, but full training will be provided.
You will need good level of IT and general office skills preferably with previous experience in primary care environment
Main duties of the job
To provide a front line service in an efficient manner for all patients and visitors to the Practice, in order to facilitate effective access to healthcare for patients.
To promote a helpful and supportive image of the Practice at all times in line with the Practices commitment to the highest possible standards of patient care.
To carry out general administrative and clerical duties and tasks, fully utilising IT software and systems available
To contribute to the development of the Practice's services through Quality Improvement.
To work as part of a team to ensure reception runs smoothly.
Other related delegated duties considered appropriate to the post as directed.

Make
appointments for patients with doctors, nurses and/or any other personnel by
telephone or direct contact.
2.
Issue
repeat prescription requests
3.
Receive and
transfer all incoming messages to appropriate personnel.
4.
Process all
requests for domiciliary visits.
5.
Extract
patients records when required
6.
File
patients records when required
7.
Provide
patients with non-medical information as required.
8.
Maintain
practice filing system in accurate order.
9.
Collect
private fees from patients where appropriate.
10.
Report to
colleagues taking over reception duty on any issue not complete.
11.
Connect and
disconnect the telephone call diversion service at appropriate times.

reception area is kept tidy.

leaflet displays and notice boards are kept tidy with current information.
