Job summary
We are excited to be offering new positions for Advanced Practitioners within our clinical team at St Mary’s and are interested in adding to our complement of GPs, Advanced Nurses, Practice Nurses and PCN Staff through recruitment of Advanced Paramedic Practitioners. We are currently re-designing our services and would like to grow our Advanced Practitioner team as a central component of our clinical model – both in terms of delivering responsive urgent on-the-day care AND in supporting continuity of care for patients with ongoing and more complex needs.
We are seeking Advanced Paramedic Practitioners with experience of working in primary care or similar first contact / urgent care service settings who possess a willingness to develop their practice and contribute to the evolution of our services. Job plans and working patterns are negotiable and we are happy to support ongoing studies where these are relevant to professional development
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be an experienced Paramedic Practitioner who will provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of their care as a patient of St Marys Surgery. They will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care for patients within the general practice. They will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures, and providing senior clinical leadership as required. In order to work at this level, HCPC College of Paramedics requirements for advanced practice must be met.
The postholder will be a senior member of the clinical team and as such will be expected to contribute to the leadership arrangements and ongoing service developments of St Marys and the Central Southampton Primary Care Network.
