Job summary

Castlecroft is a large independent and traditional GP surgery in South West Wolverhampton serving around 12,800 patients. The practice is based in a purpose built medical centre with a large supportive team.

The workload in general practice is continuously increasing and we are in the process of re-structuring to strengthen our non-clinical team to help cope with this extra work and to continue providing a great service to our patients.

We are looking for applicants with common sense, initiative and a pleasant personality who are able to manage many different tasks at once to fill this key position within our practice. Experience would be preferred; however full training and support will always be given and all applications are welcome.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide administrative leadership and oversight to the Practice covering key aspects of non-clinical management on a day to day basis, and to manage and plan for future Practice functions and deadlines.
  • To work with the Deputy Operations Manager (DOM) to ensure effective and efficient day to day management of non-clinical practice.
  • Total management and control of QOF, Enhanced Services and the Primary Care Framework, liaising when needed with the Business Manager.
  • Undertaking non-clinical HR duties including training and development.
  • Undertaking non-clinical appraisals.
  • Maintaining the HR folders for all staff and ensure all DBS checks are up to date.
  • Line manage both of the Reception Team Leaders.
  • Administrative management of the GP Registrars and GP trainees.
  • Managing annual leave for the clinical team and the Team Leaders.
  • Complaints management and handling alongside the DOM, referring to the Business Manager when needed and in the event of a serious complaint.
  • Alongside the DOM, become the EMIS, Docman and Accurx Champion.
  • Smart card management, along with the DOM.
  • Work alongside the Business Manager, the DOM and the Nurse Team Lead to plan and co-ordinate the flu season.
  • Be responsible for the meeting schedules.
  • Attend in-house meetings.

Along with the DOM, share the attendance & co-ordination of the PPG meetings and provide support as needed.

  • Experience of General Practice
