Job summary

Conway Medical Centre & Church Street Surgery is a two-site practice with surgeries in Harehills, Leeds 8 and Hunslet, Leeds 10.

We are looking for a Salaried GP for 6 – 8 sessions a week. Always committed to delivery of high-quality care to our patients whilst maintaining a friendly family atmosphere, we have a strong ethos of team working.

Main duties of the job

To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst comply with GMS/PMS contracts. 

Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

About us

We are a very friendly supportive team. We really encourage team working.

Our team comprises 2 GP partners, a salaried GP and regular locum GPs along with a team of 2 Practice Nurses and 2 HCAs with a wide skill mix.

We have an excellent and friendly reception and admin team.

Job responsibilities

To provide the full range of medical services, as appropriate, to the attached practice population, within the contracted timetable. This will include the following:

· On-call duties

· Managing acute illness

· Chronic disease management

· Telephone advice and triage

· Visiting patients at home

· Maternity services

· Contraceptive services

· Child Health Surveillance

· Health Promotion

· Clinical Audits

· To actively participate in the practice, working to agreed plans policies and procedures.

· To undertake continuing personal and professional development in line with current and emerging expectations for the medical profession.

· To participate in work, support the Quality and Outcomes Framework, Enhanced Services and local contracts.

· To become involved in the continuous development and improvement of patient services for the practice and to participate in the needs assessments and activity audits support such development.

· To participate in training, coaching and support for the wider team where applicable.

  • Qualified GP
  • General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion in Training CCT)
  • Full GMC Registration
  • National Performers List Registration
  • Appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU)
  • Eligibility to practice work in the UK independently
  • Experience of working in primary care environment
  • Experience of continued professional development
  • Outhandling level of clinical knowledge and skill commensurate with that of an experience GP
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Strong IT skills
  • Clear polite telephone manner
  • Effective time management Planning and Organising
  • Ability
