Job summary
We are looking for a enthusiastic,
reliable part time or full time receptionists to join our very busy, friendly and growing Practice
in Old Coulsdon, Surrey.
The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills and have
a knowledge of office and IT packages. The
role will entail a mixture of front desk, telephone and administrative duties.
We welcome applications from experienced Receptionists as well as candidates who
are keen to learn.
Main duties of the job
The duties and
responsibilities to be undertaken by members of the Practice reception team include:
- Maintaining and
monitoring the Practice appointments system
- Processing personal
and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone
consultations and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate
healthcare professional
- Taking messages and
passing on information
- Filing and retrieving
paperwork
- Processing repeat
prescriptions in accordance with Practice guidelines
- Provide receptionist
support to members of the primary healthcare team.
- Computer data
entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information
in accordance with Practice procedures
- Initiating contact
with and responding to requests from patients, other team members and
associated healthcare agencies and providers
- Keeping the reception
area, notice-boards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free from obstructions
and clutter
About us
The Old Coulsdon Medical Practice provides primary care services in Coulsdon to approximately 19,500 patients
The clinical team at the surgery is made up of 5 Partner GP's, 7 Salaried GP's , 5 Nurses, 1 Nurse Associate, 2 Healthcare Assistants, 3 Pharmacists, 1 Pharmacy Technician, 1 Paramedic, 1 Advanced Paramedic Practitioner, 1 First Contact Practitioner Physiotherapist and over 20 non-clinical staff made up of receptionists and
administrators.
The practice is a training practice for trainee GP's and
provides teaching to medical students and nurses.
The practice is registered as a partnership with the Care
Quality Commission to provide the regulated activities of diagnostic and
screening procedures, maternity and midwifery services, family planning
services, treatment of disease, disorder or injury and surgical procedures.
The practice ethos of providing high quality and caring services
by friendly proactive teams.
The Practice is a member of SPC Health Primary Care Network (PCN). The PCN is a collaboration of 4 local GP practices that service a total population of approx. 53,000 patients.

patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone
Receive, assist
and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare

variety of reception duties to assist in the smooth running of the Practice
including the provision of appointment booking, reception desk and clerical
support to the reception team and clinical staff as well as other members of
