This job is now closed

Job summary

We are seeking a Health Care Assistant to fulfil an important role within our team. This is an interesting and varied role worked over 4 days. The NHS Pension Scheme is offered with this position.

If you have previously had a role in a healthcare setting such as hospital, a GP surgery or a care home you will have the skills we require for this role, and in-house training will also be available to build on these skills.

A good 'team fit' is essential to us. You will need to be personable, friendly, positive and with a 'can do' nature.

Main duties of the job

This is a unique role within the Practice as half the week you will work alongside our Doctor running a Dermatology Clinic. This means you will be assisting with skin-related procedures. It is rare to find such a role. For the remaining part of the role, you will undertake a range of treatment room duties including venepuncture, ECG tests, urine testing, blood pressure monitoring, simple dressings, suture removal etc. You will also be involved in the daily monitoring of systems and processes to support infection control, patient safety and regulatory requirements alongside other members of the nursing team.

We can provide some specific training, but we are looking for someone with some relevant experience.

About us

We are a busy General Practice split over two sites. We currently have 18000 patients and a team of over 50 people including clinicians and support staff. We are a forward looking Practice and part of Taunton Central Primary Care Network.
