Job summary

Towcester Medical Centre are looking for an experienced phlebotomist to join their team on a temporary basis.

Main duties of the job

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures on patients

  • Accurately label, handle, and process specimens

  • Maintain cleanliness and infection control standards

  • Provide excellent patient care and reassurance during procedures

  • Ensure proper documentation and data entry using EMIS

The Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting blood and other specimens from patients for medical testing. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform venepuncture safely and proficiantly

  • Collect specimens following proper procedures and labeling standards

  • Verify patient identity and maintain accurate records in EMIS system

  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and transportation of samples

  • Prepare and maintain phlebotomy equipment and work area
