Job summary
Queen
Camel Medical Centre is a family-orientated, innovative rural practice where we
put an emphasis on a high level of prompt patient-centred care. We are looking for a Practice Nurse to join our team.
Main duties of the job
Supporting patients to be healthy, monitoring long-term conditions. You will need to be able to run a Practice Nurse clinic, this will include general nurse appointments and Chronic Disease Management. You will take responsibility for infection prevention and review and adapt the Practice's IPC policies.
About us
We
have a broad practice boundary, which serves over 6000 patients, centred around
the picturesque village of Queen Camel, which sits on the River Cam as it
travels from King Arthurs seat at Cadbury Castle. This includes over 10
villages and hamlets, within which we care for one nursing home and several
residential homes.
We
have recently extended our dispensary and moved towards robotic technology to
future-proof the service that we offer. This has enabled us to offer a 24-hour
prescription collection service to the 80% of patients that we currently
dispense to.
We
are a keen training practice with regular lunchtime teaching in addition to a
mandatory morning coffee break! Currently we house GP and Advanced Nurse
Practitioner trainees, as well as developing a team of GP assistants to reduce
