Job summary

Arch Health CIC is a social enterprise (est 2016) delivering specialist healthcare to people experiencing homelessness and vulnerability in Brighton & Hove.

We are a growing organisation with a very experienced local team who are dedicated to improving the health & well-being of people who are homeless and vulnerable.

We are currently looking for an outstanding candidate to fulfil the role of Finance Manager as we work to bring our financial processes in-house.

Main duties of the job

This will be a varied role working across the full range of the organisation's financial requirement including:

Leading the finance function and financial accounting of ARCH HEALTH CIC & PCN 1 (until 2022 exit)

Transitioning Arch Health CIC to new accounting system

Conducting day to day finance administration tasks

You'll be working closely with the CEO and exec team to ensure excellent financial governance, budgeting, record keeping and reporting ensuring that resources are deployed efficiently and for the maximum impact on our patients.

Job responsibilities

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records.

Preparation of monthly management accounts.

Maintain fixed asset registers and calculate depreciation charge.

Provide support in the forecasting, budgeting and business planning processes.

Balance sheet, and bank reconciliations.

Carry out day-to-day operations of the finance team, including dealing with queries in a timely and effective manner.

Raise sales invoices, process customer receipts and manage credit control.

Raise purchase orders, process supplier invoices and payments and issue remittance advice.

Monitor and reconcile trade debtors and trade creditors ledger accounts.

Analyse companys credit cards and petty cash expenses.

Working with the wider business team to continually improve and implement financial processes.

Ad-hoc projects

Prepare for the statutory audit.

Identify risks and opportunities relating to the ARCH HEALTH CIC.

Calculate accruals and prepayments for all organisations with monthly reconciliation.

Assist in the analysis and interpretation of the monthly management accounts.

Business liaison for stakeholders (internal and external).

Assist in providing relevant training and guidance to internal stakeholders.

General

Is responsible for checking the accuracy of own work and maintains a strong attention to detail at all times.

Responsible for personal development with support from line manager

  • ACCA/CIMA studier or qualified by experience

Experience

  • Must have at least one year of management accounting experience.
  • Must have proven financial accounting knowledge with a good track record of working with accounting platforms.

Desirable

  • Experience of working within a charitable/healthcare organisation.

Skills & Competencies

  • Good communication skills.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially in Excel.
  • Experience of using Sage 50 or similar accounting platform.
  • Creative and proactive approach to streamlining and improving processes.
  • Enjoys taking on increasing responsibilities within the team.
  • High attention to detail and high level of numeracy demonstrated.
  • Able to adhere to deadlines and effectively manage their own work load.
  • Able to work under their own initiative and without supervision.
