Job summary

We are a busy GP Surgery looking to recruit a highly motivated, professional individual with excellent customer service skills into the role of Reception Team Leader.

Main duties of the job

The role will involve leading a team of reception staff to ensure duties and tasks are carried out to a high standard in a timely manner. To ensure we have the right staff in place at the right time and that staff are given the opportunity to develop within their roles. To treat staff fairly and consistently whilst carrying out their role.

The role will deal with an element of patient contact over the telephone and face to face, undertaking administrative tasks, supporting the Practice Manager, Assistant Managers and clinical staff and putting patient care at the heart of everything we do.

Experience of leading a team is essential and working within a GP Surgery or Health Care setting would be beneficial.

We are looking for a porfessional, highly motivated individual; someone who is willing to work as part of a team and can also work on their own initiative.

About us

We offer a range of shifts between the hours of 8 am and 6 pm Monday to Friday and are looking for individuals who can be flexible with their working pattern.

We work as a team, including reception, admin, nursing team, GPs and GP Partners, pulling together to ensure the job is done and our patient needs are met. The atmosphere is supportive, friendly and hard working.

We enjoy taking part in charitable events and supporting those less fortunate than ourselves particularly at Christmas.

We offer our patients a wide range of services to support their physical and mental health.

Job description

Job responsibilities

o Deal with complaints in accordance with practice complaints procedure

o Ensure adequate staffing for patient services

o Provide induction training and ongoing review

o Ensure practice policies are followed and accurate records are kept with particular reference to appointments, post, patient registration, repeat prescriptions, filing systems, births and deaths

o Prepare weekly staff rota

o Managing holidays

o Liaise with management team concerning staffing and organisation of work

o Attend staff meetings

o Train staff in use of system

o Ensure communication systems are running smoothly and doctors and reception staff are kept fully informed of changes in procedures by daily huddles, written communication.

o Ensure everything confidential is put away at the end of the day

o Ensure that confidentiality is adhered to in terms of patient information and the protection of personal and sensitive data

o Maintaining an up to date knowledge of health and safety and infection control.

o Identifying the risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in way that manages those risks.
