An exciting opportunity has arisen, employed by Foundations at START Hartlepool, for a full time Clinical Support Worker.
The role is to review, support and prescribe for clients in opiate substitute and alcohol treatment. Please see the attached job description and person specification for further details.

transcribe, review and support patients to manage their medically assisted
treatment package with direct supervision from a specialist nurse.

To ensure
patients are aware of the risks associated with their substance use and support
them to develop strategies to reduce the associated harm of their substance use.

patients to access appropriate health care, supporting them to address often
complex health needs and reduce incidents of drug related death.

Liaise and
communicate with multi-agency staff.

Employed
by Foundations at START Hartlepool, however may be required to support other
Foundations sites.

- An understanding of substance use; how it can have an impact on mental, physical, and social health.
- An understanding / awareness of current national policies on substance use.
- Knowledge and understanding of the recovery agenda.
- Knowledge and understanding of policies related to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults and how these influence practice.
- Experience of working with Mental Health Services
- Demonstrable experience of working independently.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Risk assessment and treatment care planning.
- Skills and aptitude;
- Computer literate.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Respond flexibly to the demands of the post.
- Understanding of issues surrounding risk and risk management.
- Ability to develop good therapeutic relationships with clients.
- Ability to maintain accurate and detailed case records within given guidelines.
- A demonstrable understanding of the need for, and ability to, deliver high quality services.
- Show commitment to facilitating positive outcomes for service users.
- Work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
